Cavite: Now Closer Than Ever

March 30, 2021

Cavite is a few kilometers from the metro, but traveling takes more than an hour and could get even worse. Indeed, traffic congestion is inevitable in a progressing area. But things are about to change. Upon completion of the following transportation projects in the metro and the South, it will shorten travel time from hours to minutes.

Skyway Stage 3 Project

The recently opened Skyway connects Buendia in Makati City and Balintawak, Quezon City. This will decongest traffic along EDSA by nearly 55,000 vehicles daily. Now that it is fully operational, it reduced the current travel time from 2 hours to just 15 minutes. The project speeds up traveling from the north, providing seamless and more convenient travel.

Cavite-C5 Link Expressway

The existing expressway aims completion of two additional segments at the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) area and Sucat Interchange by the second quarter of this year. Once completed, the project will serve 50,000 cars and reduce travel time from Cavite to the central business districts from an hour to approximately 10 minutes.

NLEX-SLEX Connector Road

Last May 2019, the construction of this 8-kilometer expressway started to extend the North Luzon Expressway southward. It has two interchanges, first at C3 Road and second, at España, Manila. It serves at least 35,000 vehicles per day. Expectedly, the project will reduce travel time from SLEX to NLEX from 2 hours to 20 minutes.

Cavite-Laguna Expressway

While other segments are partially operational, the remaining parts of CALAX are still ongoing development. This expressway stretches 45 kilometers, with nine interchanges, traversing Kawit, Imus, Dasmariñas, General Trias, Silang, Sta. Rosa and Biñan. Its segments in Laguna are eyed for completion by April, while the rest by the second half of 2022.

Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project

Crossing Manila Bay, this project aims to connect Mariveles, Bataan, and Naic, Cavite. Its point in Naic is about a 15-minute drive to Arden Botanical Estate. This breakthrough development will greatly benefit residents from the north and the south of the metro.

With this connectivity in the South, people can travel to the heart or beyond the metro with greater ease. Most importantly, going to and from Cavite is more convenient upon completion of these projects.
